New document

You can create a new blank document from the existing open document.

Another option for importing existing text is to create a blank document, then paste in text from your clipboard (CTRL + V on PC y ⌘ + V en Mac).

You can also load an existing document (.txt, .doc, .docx, .rtf) to edit it with abcCorrector. New elements can be added using simple drag and drop or the File Explorer.

Spelling and grammar check

 

Once you’ve finished composing your document, click on the Correct button to start the correction process.

 

The description of the detected error will be shown.

Clicking on the suggested correction will replace the error in your text with the suggestion.

If you believe the detected error is in fact not an error, you can flag it for review.

Accentual differences

Once the correction is done, you can verify that no error has been made with terms that sound the same but have different meanings.

It is possible to omit the correction of pronouns or other terms that are widely used but have a low incident rate.

Clicking on one of the options displayed will change the text.

Ignore, remove the underlining of the selected term.

Save

 

Once the correction is done, you can copy the text to the clipboard CTRL + C en PCs o ⌘ + C on Mac) or save the document.

 

If the initial text was uploaded as a document from your computer, the corrected text will be saved in the same format as the original (for instance, if the original uploaded document was a .doc file, the corrected document will also be saved as a .doc file).

If the initial text came from a blank document, an option to name the document will appear and this will be saved as a .txt file.

About the dictionary

The abcCorrector dictionary boasts a number of special features, as it’s been adapted to the specific needs of a grammar checker. Some of these features are listed below.

Terms that are not included in the dictionary.

When a term of limited use coincides with a common error:

Grammatical category.

When a word belongs to various grammatical categories depending on its use, it will show as belonging to its most common category:
